Victim of the troubled economy... a man... half technically inclined, consumer gadget and gaming aficionado... half music loving, sports enthusiast, who happens to have the same name as this blogs author, finds himself pitted against all odds in the realm of the unemployed. (NOTE: This paragraph should have been read in a low deep, theatrical voice a la Don LaFontaine)
Clearly the half tech/gaming geek is me and, yes, I recently got the boot and joined the rest of the millions of unemployed people in the world. After working at a tech PR firm for almost two and a half years with a great group of super intelligent people I was laid off. I've found myself at a crossroads... not a, "do I move back home with my father?" or "I should start saving boxes for life on the streets?" crossroads but a, "what am I most passionate about and where will my experience, skills and passion best work together?"
It's moments like these that build character. It's how people get over the speed bumps that shape personalities. I'm going into this whole situation with a positive, everything happens for a reason, outlook.
In the meantime, I plan on blogging the hell out of everything I'm passionate about (gaming, consumer tech, social media, etc.), and if you too are just as passionate I hope you enjoy reading on. Oh, and if you happen to be in HR at a company that you think I'd be a good fit for check out my resume above!
